Semester Success: three options

1/ Summer Workshop for rising 1st-year college students

2/ Summer one-to-one coaching for students who wish to return to college after difficult starts

3/ Coaching and accountability during the fall & spring college semesters

Semester Success is Ramp’s newest program with three options: one-to-one coaching options the fall/spring semesters; one-to-one coaching during the summer after difficult freshman years; and a college-success workshop for rising 1st-year college students in the summer before college. Based on Ramp’s 25 Tips for 1st-year College Students, new and returning college students learn to meet the expectations of college: planning, organization, study habits, life/work balance, and more. Support during the college semester includes two 1-hour one-to-one coaching sessions per week designed to help students navigate their work and stay personally accountable. Students who have done the program have seen substantial increases in course outcomes (course grades and GPA boosts). Send an inquiry to learn more.

Ramp is offering a Semester Success Summer Workshop designed for rising first-year college students before they begin college. The program includes two individual coaching sessions for each participant with Dr. John Giordano in addition to the three half-day group meetings. The program can be done from anywhere you have an internet connection.

The Semester Success Summer Workshop is discussion-based. Former Ramp Coaching clients who are now college students serve as peer mentors. Pre-recorded videos on the workshop topics can be watched before or after workshop sessions and accessed throughout the fall semester, once the workshop is completed. Peer Mentors will hold small-group discussions with participants in addition to discussions and exercises led by Dr. Giordano.

The cost is $690 for the group summer workshop and individual coaching sessions.

Testimonials

“As a highly disorganized student who failed for years to correctly identify my objectives in school, John was there to guide me through and help me develop a self awareness of the fact in addition to getting the work done. He’s a great teacher, and an even better man to work with.”

Fall & Spring Semester Client, 2022-23

“Hey, John! I just got my final grades back for this semester, A-, A, A, and A! I wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done and let you know that you’ve really helped me out this past year.”

–Summer One-to-One Coaching Client, 2022

“Semester Success led me not only to greater quantifiable measures of success (namely better grades), but left me feeling more confident in my approach to life as a whole. The program does this primarily through its constant implementation of reflection on both self and life as it happens in real time. Not only does the program offer tips for success, but it opens up a constant conversation between the content of the course and real life interactions. It does this by not simply focusing on school, but all areas of self and life. Before participating in the program, I don’t think I realized just how crucial finding balance between work, health, and fun are to being ultimately successful. The program, on the other hand, understands this importance, and is structured in a way that takes into account all these aspects, leading towards both a semester and life of success.”
